How far do the blade tangs extend into the handle? Is there more than just plastic beneath your fingers?

I broke a pair of regular household scissors cutting through cotton balls, harder than you’d think. Would the 8” scissors be able to do this task?

Could these cut a rug?

What would be the thickest items this scissors can go through? I see it says it's ideal for rope. What about branches or rubber? How thick?
