Cars Toon: Mater's Tall Tales [Blu-ray] [US Import]

Ever since my 3 year old son saw this advertised he's been hassling me to get it for him. I ordered it and it came a couple of weeks ago - and its never been off our tv since.The format is good - short stories to keep even the easiest sidetracked boy interested and they are very funny. I know some other review have been negative, but me and my husband love them almost as much as my son. Its also nice that Mater is the star (my favourite character by far from Cars) and not Lightening McQueen - as most other film follow-ons would do.They are what they are - a cheap dvd which will keep the most talkative and curious toddler quiet for at least 30 minutes everyday - to me that's heaven. And yes I know that I've had to explain what some of the stories are about (Mater Private Eye) but so what if he doesnt get it - he's only 3, he still finds them funny, and so do I.So enjoy it, and here's hoping that Disney/Pixar produce some more, at 5 minutes a go, how hard can it be?????

I bought this cars toon bluray from the states as couldn't find it in the uk at a half decent price so i thought i'd give it a go and try it. When i mean give it ago i mean the blu-ray is region1 and my player is region 2 but with a little research on the web i unlocked the region code and it worked first time. It has a few ads but you can skip and go straight to play menu. My son kept shouting hurry up and he's only 3. We sat down and watch all of the different stories and we both loved it with my wife saying we both looked like a couple of kids. The graphics were very good and im sure glad i bought the bluray version. It's worth the money. I haven't tried the extras on the disk but im sure i'll get round to that soon enough. We watch the disk aleast 10 times a week so that tells you it's addictive. The stories themselves are very good for kids and big kids.

I got this for my 2-year old son who loves the first 'Cars' movie, and gave it to him during a long car journey. He absolutely loved it, and watched it again and again! The DVD features Mater as the lead character in different 5-10 minute episodes. In each episode he experiences crazy adventures, but did they really happen or is it just a tall tale?I would recommend this DVD for little (and bigger) boys who are into Cars, it's a great spin-off, very entertaining and as the children get a bit older I'm sure they will appreciate the jokes more, so this is something that won't get boring for a while. We've had it for a couple of months now and my son still frequently asks to watch it.

This is the dvd of Maters Tall Tales a selection of Cars Toons between 3 and 5 minutes long. This dvd is only 37 minutes long, but seriously worth it if you have a Cars mad child, my little boy is 2 1/2 and LOVES them. Only quibble is Owen Wilson doesn't do Lightening McQueens voice, but the kids haven't noticed. They are actually very entertaining allbeit short, there are extras on the dvd but they are not the sort the kids are interested in. And there is 2 toons on here that I believe are exclusive to the dvd.

This DVD is a real success. Just like grandads "tall tales" of war memories, here is mater telling us some very tall tales of his life. Each one is about 5 or 6 minutes long, each one is very clever with the way they have used the names, and there are some real laugh at loud moments. My favourite is El Materador - a bull fight with bulldozers! I would wholeheartedly recommend this and if mine gets damaged I will buy it again.

The dvd case came broken apart with small bits of plastic loose in the parcel.

I purchased this for my son (he is 3 & like many other children, loves the film "Cars" in which Mater is first seen).We sat down & watched it together last Sunday (husband, son & I), & we all enjoyed it to varying degrees. There are several jokes in there which currently go over my son's head, but there are also lots of visual treats which should create lots of laughter for all concerned. My son's favourite part was the race in Japan, he squealed with laughter throughout this toon.There are some nice elements to this (e.g. the two groupies that follow Mater around in each episode), & Lightning's lack of remembrance about the adventures (or is it all in Mater's dreams / imagination - you decide!). It's the kind of entertainment you can watch several times & find small new things in it each time.It isn't very long, but I don't really like him sitting down & watching a great deal of TV at his age anyway, so it's a good treat-sized DVD.

This is a great romp and is a must for all fans of Cars. Mater narrates one far-fetched story after another across a number of scenarios to a sceptical Lightning McQueen who keeps needing to be reminded that he was a participant too.My only complaint is the short duration of this DVD - 37 minutes. More episodes would have been better. A pity Pixar didn't make any more of them. But the ones included here are a real hoot. Definitely recommended.

車の中で見ています。コマーシャル？が多くて長くてすごく長くて先送り連打するのがめちゃくちゃ面倒で嫌になりますが、アニメ自体は3歳の子供は楽しそうに見ています。

I bought this for my son...and me! I loved Cars and thought it was probably one of the best Disney-CGI movies of recent. I love automobiles, I love animation and having both together in one pot is a blessing. So when Mater's Tall Tales came out, no question, it's for me...er, my son.Mater's Tall Tales is a compilation of short stories of Mater's outrageous stories and adventures that always leaves you wondering...he did what?? These shorts have been kicking around the Disney channel in the US for some time, filling in some gaps between shows. These shorts were done so well, same calibre as the movie, that people just begged for a formal DVD/Blu-Ray release. Thank you Pixar for listening!You love Cars, you love animation, you have to have this!

Ordered this for my son who was absolutely loves Mater and it did not disappoint. He is very impressed with flying Mater :)

This is my 2 year olds favorite dvd to watch.
